Neurological examination Hamburg

Neurology

Often, underlying internal diseases such as arterial hypertension, elevated blood lipid levels, diabetes mellitus or so-called type A gastritis with resulting vitamin B-12 deficiency cause neurological diseases such as strokes or polyneuropathy.

Therefore, neurology is related to many other specialties, because neurological diseases rarely represent an isolated process.

Specialists from the field of neurology work in our MEDIZINICUM Hamburg. Our team of 50 experienced doctors from 25 disciplines work together in an interdisciplinary manner to take a holistic view of your symptoms and make a targeted diagnosis.

Top priority for prevention in neurology

Our neurological department (neurology) in Hamburg is optimally equipped for all constellations. A modern electrophysiological measuring unit is also available for diagnostics and there is close cooperation with the radiology department for imaging the neurological organs (especially brain, nerves and spinal cord). Of course, the prevention of neuological events has top priority. In the case of an increased cardiovascular risk profile, i.e. an increased risk constellation also for strokes, there is close interdisciplinary cooperation with the internal medicine departments of our hospital. Or also orthopaedics, e.g. in the case of degenerative changes in the spinal column with impairment of the spinal cord structures. Of course, there are also purely neurological diseases, such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease, for whose treatment our neurological department has the greatest possible expertise.
