Orthopaedics, trauma surgery and chirotherapy

Pain in the musculoskeletal system can affect people of all ages. While sports injuries and overuse are the main causes in younger people, older people often suffer from degenerative changes are often the main cause. Orthopaedic therapy aims not only to alleviate pain, but also to restore the full functionality and resilience of the musculoskeletal system. Sports injuries can often be traced back to a clear cause and often show typical injury patterns. Overuse pain, on the other hand, is more complex and is often caused by muscular imbalances, poor posture or occupational strain.

Surgical treatment

At MEDIZINICUM an der Alster, we have many years of experience in surgical orthopaedics. We recognize the right time when conservative therapies are no longer sufficient and an operation becomes necessary. In such cases, we work closely with renowned orthopaedic clinics so that a prompt and uncomplicated referral is possible.

Back Center at MEDIZINICUM

The comprehensive initial examination forms the basis of all further treatment at MEDIZINICUM. In addition to a detailed medical history, we carry out a manual and orthopaedic examination. If imaging procedures are required, these can be carried out quickly, often on the same day. This enables us to make a diagnosis quickly and draw up an individual treatment plan for you.

Successful therapy requires teamwork, and as a patient you are an active part of this team. By working closely together, we ensure that you fully understand the treatment process.

Radiological diagnostics for back problems

At MEDIZINICUM Stephansplatz, we offer all standard radiological procedures. These include digital X-rays, computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound.

Treatment options for back pain

Our treatment aims to alleviate pain, correct muscular imbalances and prevent incorrect posture. In addition to manual therapy procedures, we also use targeted infiltrations in which pain-relieving medication is injected under radiological control.

  • Periradicular therapies (PRT) for the treatment of nerve root pain
  • Facet joint blocks for the treatment of small vertebral joints
  • Epidural infiltrations in the spinal canal
  • Infiltrations of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ)

Thermodenervation

Thermodenervation is an innovative method for reducing pain. This involves using a thermal probe to obliterate the nerve branch responsible for pain conduction. This provides lasting pain relief without the need for surgery.

Surgical therapy for back problems

Although the focus is on non-surgical treatment, our team has extensive experience in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders. Should surgery be necessary, we work closely with specialized spinal surgeons to ensure you receive the best possible care.

Physiotherapy for back pain

In many cases, physiotherapy treatment is useful to correct incorrect posture and strengthen the muscles. We work closely with physiotherapists and closely monitor the healing process. In addition, medical training therapy (MTT) can help to improve physical performance and ensure long-term therapy results.

Neurological and psychological care for back pain

In cases of chronic pain or neurological symptoms, further neurological clarification may be necessary. In addition, we attach great importance to the psychological component in cases of persistent back pain. Our experts offer support in recognizing factors that exacerbate pain and in improving the management of chronic pain.

Our aim is to help you alleviate your symptoms and improve your quality of life through comprehensive and interdisciplinary approaches.
