Centre for Orthopaedics and Neurology
There is a wealth of experience at this centre. This is the basis for weighing up the conflicting priorities between conservative and surgical therapeutic approaches. In the case of traumatic or degenerative diseases, our expert colleagues can thus present you with the entire range of possible therapeutic approaches based on well-founded findings.
Our orthopaedic colleagues have access to the latest ultrasound and X-ray technology; if necessary, e.g. a short-term MR imaging can be carried out in the radiology department of the MEDIZINICUM. On this basis, it can then be quickly decided whether, for example, oral analgesic therapy or injection therapy is appropriate for knee joint arthrosis. If such conservative therapy steps do not make sense, you will be given comprehensive advice on surgical treatment approaches such as joint replacement therapies. In this context, your attending physicians can draw on a large network of contacts to surgical centres, based on decades of work in leading positions in hospital departments.
Our neurology is also optimally networked. This branch is indispensable for all departments of the medical center, since multiple symptoms such as headaches, mal sensations, muscle pain, gait disorders or even visual disturbances can be based on neurological causes. That is why the Centre for Orthopaedics and Neurology is a central component of our interdisciplinary treatment concept. Modern electrophysiological measuring methods can be used to objectify neurological findings.
