Transmission of protection against SARS-CoV-2 two weeks after vaccination or after infection by means of neutralisation test for the detection of SARS-Cov 2 antibodies
Dear patients,
We offer you a special test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The special feature of this so-called cPass neutralisation test is that information can be provided within one hour as to whether you have acquired protection against SARS-CoV-2 two weeks after vaccination or after an infection. This ELISA detects all neutralising antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 and also mutated S protein. Detection of IgG, IgA or IgM antibodies does not allow a statement about protection against further Corona infections. In contrast, neutralising antibodies against the RBD protein prevent this protein from binding to the ACE2 receptors. This prevents the viruses from entering the cells.
Conclusion: Rec ombinant ACE2 receptors are firmly bound to the bottom of the ELISA wells. If neutralising antibodies are present in the plasma or serum, their inhibitory effect can be expressed as a percentage. The longer the infection or vaccination dates back, the lower this percentage will be. Currently, there are indications that inhibition remains effective for at least 6 months. Follow-up controls should be carried out depending on the test result. The duration of protection is continuously evaluated internationally. It is therefore an elegant method that is superior to other methods.
