Women's cardiology with Ms. Tessloff on DAS!

We are delighted that Dr. Tessloff presented the Women's Cardiology Department at MEDIZINICUM in a report on NDR's DAS! program and highlighted the particular importance of this specialist field.

Cardiovascular diseases often manifest differently in women than in men. Women often experience nonspecific symptoms such as shortness of breath and exhaustion, and classic chest pain is not uncommon.

The underlying causes also differ: in women, microvascular circulatory disorders and vascular spasms play a greater role. An unremarkable cardiac catheterization therefore does not rule out relevant heart disease.

The women's cardiology department at MEDIZINICUM, headed by Dr. Tessloff, takes these differences into account. It focuses on gender-specific diagnostics, individually tailored therapy concepts, and targeted prevention—oriented toward the specific life stages and risk factors of women.

Our goal is to detect heart disease in women at an early stage, treat it in a differentiated manner, and prevent it in the long term.
