First special consultation for statin intolerance at Klinikum Stephansplatz

With a special consultation hour for the diagnosis and therapy of patients who urgently need cholesterol-lowering drugs (statins) but cannot tolerate these drugs, Stephansplatz Hospital is responding to a previously underestimated problem. Up to five percent of patients suffer from muscle pain and other side effects during statin therapy. However, these symptoms can also have other, often rheumatological causes.
