Getting into balance
From Prof. Dr. Mattias R. Lemke. Exhaustion is one of the most common complaints in primary care, but e.g. also 31 percent of hospital physicians always feel exhausted, 60 percent increasingly. Chronic exhaustion is caused by persistent stress, it is an accompanying symptom of physical and mental illnesses.
Early initiation of appropriate individual measures at different levels can prevent worsening of symptoms and promote recovery.
Exhaustion is a common complaint associated with individual suffering and of great importance in clinic and practice. It occurs as a symptom of physical and mental illnesses, but also as an independent diagnosis, especially in the context of stress-related disorders, with relevance for medical care and society.
Not only currently in the context of the Corona pandemic, but also before that, fatigue was considered a common syndrome that severely affected the individual patient. The terms exhaustibility, fatigue, fatigability, tiredness and fatigue are often used synonymously and not clearly distinguished from each other.
